People at Powwownow
Paul Lees, Director
Paul was founder, Technical Director and Product Architect for ViewsCast - a company which developed an advanced CTI / internet platform producing real-time measurement of customer opinions over the telephone and internet. ViewsCast clients included BT, Norwich Union, British Gas, Powergen, and various customers in the financial services, telecoms and utilities markets. In 2004, ViewsCast was sold to Synovate (a global market research company, part of the Aegis Group).
Prior to his pioneering work with Viewscast, Paul had fifteen years' experience in the computer industry (including BT, TNT, Maritz and Research International) in systems design, development and program implementation.
"Developing products is all about customer focus", says Paul. "Things should work as people expect them to, and cost an amount that they feel comfortable with. It is easy to build large, complex systems with confusing tariffs and lots of features - the difficult part is boiling down the real requirement into a tight feature set which works intuitively."
Andrew Pearce, Director
As founder member and Managing Director of Inkfish Call Centres Ltd, Andrew steered the company from its inception to a £26.4million turnover in just seven years. When the company was sold to Domestic and General Group Plc in 2001, Andrew remained with Inkfish, and was promoted to the Group Plc Board in 2003, where he was responsible for contact centres within the group. In June 2004 Andrew decided it was time for a new challenge. Already an investor in Powwownow, he saw the opportunity to join the team and help the company move into its next phase of growth.
Andrew comments: "Like when we established Inkfish, we were changing the way companies looked at outsourcing contact centres, now I have the opportunity to work with the fastest growing voice conferencing company in the UK. Again, changing the business model for conferencing from what was previously a high-cost, complicated service, to a no-cost, simple-to-use solution."
Mick Kemp, Director
Mick has many years experience in the IT industry as a system integration specialist designing, developing and delivering enterprise-level solutions. Mick has worked with a wide variety of organisations in both the commercial and public sectors including TNT, BT, British Coal, British Fuels, Hansons, USB, Hambros, First Choice Holidays, UK Online and the Department of Trade and Industry.
